About the Role
We’re seeking a sophisticated wine and beverage leader to oversee a premium beverage program for a fine dining, luxury hotel, private club, or hospitality group. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep wine knowledge, strong business judgment, and the ability to train teams in a way that feels accessible, elegant, and commercially effective.
The right candidate understands that a great wine program is more than a list. It is a revenue strategy, a guest experience tool, a culture builder, and an extension of the brand.
Key Areas of Ownership
Wine & Beverage Program Leadership
- Curate and manage a distinctive wine and beverage program aligned with brand, clientele, cuisine, and financial goals
- Oversee list development, pricing, inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, cellar management, and cost controls
- Ensure beverage offerings support guest experience, profitability, and market differentiation
Team Education & Service Standards
- Train managers, sommeliers, servers, bartenders, and hospitality teams on wine knowledge, pairings, service, and sales approach
- Create practical education tools that increase confidence and improve guest engagement
- Set expectations for polished, informed, and natural beverage service
Financial & Inventory Discipline
- Manage beverage cost, purchasing cadence, inventory accuracy, allocation strategy, and reporting
- Partner with F&B, culinary, finance, and operations leaders to forecast demand and control spend
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce waste, and increase premium beverage sales
Guest Experience & Brand Programming
- Support wine dinners, private tastings, winemaker collaborations, member events, and VIP experiences
- Build relationships with distributors, producers, collectors, and strategic partners
- Represent the beverage program with polish, credibility, and warmth
What You Bring
- 7–10+ years of wine, beverage, fine dining, hospitality, private club, or luxury hotel experience
- Prior leadership experience as Wine Director, Beverage Director, Head Sommelier, Director of Restaurants, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of wine regions, producer relationships, inventory systems, pricing, service, and beverage profitability
- Proven ability to train teams and translate technical wine knowledge into elevated guest experiences
- Advanced wine certification preferred but not required when experience is strong
- Polished, collaborative, commercially aware, and deeply hospitality-minded
